ISTE 2018 is Here!!

It is my favorite time of year again. ISTE time!

Now, I know that I have been kind of quiet lately. This is not because I have had nothing to say, it is because life has gotten crazy!! Between STEM Read events and podcasts (listen to our latest episode featuring Todd Burleson and Andrea Beaty), working with amazing teachers doing PD and the fact that my youngest graduated from high school – my schedule has been packed! And, this week is the cherry on top of the awesome – ISTE 2018!!

I love the International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) and all the things they do for education. Not to mention, their conferences are totally amazing! Last year I came home from San Antonio with new ideas, new tools, and new friends. (Read more about my ISTE 2107 adventures on recap post.) This year, ISTE is in Chicago and I could not be more excited. There is something surreal about having it right in your own backyard. Ok, not quite my backyard but close. It’s in the same state.

The NIU STEM Read team has been super busy creating some really cool things for ISTE. Most of the fun is centered on Andy Weir and his books, The Martian and Artemis. We have gamified both of his books and will be rolling them out at our PD Part in Space!! on Tuesday night. Follow the link to learn more. There is even still time to register.

We will be busy at ISTE as well. You can visit the Northern Illinois University booth on the expo floor (both #2189) to learn more about NIU College of Education, Graduate programs and all things NIU STEAM and STEM Read. You can also catch me, my co-presenters and Andy Weir at various presentations during the conference. See our schedule below. Oh – and Andy Weir will be at the NIU booth on Wednesday from 10:45 – 11:15.

P.S. I promise that more posts are coming soon. I’ll have a list of things to review and share with you next week. If you have missed my posts, click over to Coaching for Geeks where I have a few guest posts.
