Same Prompt Different Tool
In my last post, I decided to give AI writing tools a try and see if they could help me with my content dilemma. Namely, the fact that I was not generating any. So, I decided to explore Google’s contribution to the AI market and see if Bard could write me a new blog post using my blogging voice. Long story short. The content was not bad but it didn’t really sound like me at all. Check out that post to see what you think.
For this round, I’m giving Chat GPT from Open AI a try. This is the one that kind of started it all or at least, got the interwebs really talking about what AI can do when it comes to writing. I wanted to start with the free version. Because, well, I’m cheap. I really do not like to pay for tools unless I have to. Much like Bard, I needed to create an account and sign in. The interface was similar. I entered the same prompt that I used with Bard.
Write a blog post about using AI to co-write a blog post. Use a maximum of 500 words. Use the style of hotpinktech.com.
This was fun to watch. It started typing out a response and I could watch the post materialize before my very eyes. Let’s see what Chat GPT had to say about co-writing a blog post. As before, everything in the pink box was written by Chat GPT. I am the real me. Writing real words with my real brain. I’ll be back once you read what Chat GPT wrote.
Title: Harnessing the Power of AI: Co-Writing Blog Posts Made Easy
Introduction:
Welcome to HotPinkTech.com, where we explore the latest advancements in technology and their impact on our lives. Today, we delve into the exciting realm of artificial intelligence (AI) and its ability to transform the way we create content. Specifically, we’ll discuss how AI can be utilized to co-write blog posts, revolutionizing the writing process and unleashing new possibilities for content creators.
Embracing AI-Powered Co-Writing:
Traditionally, writing a blog post was a solitary endeavor, requiring hours of research, brainstorming, and writing. However, with the emergence of AI technologies like OpenAI’s GPT-3.5, content creators now have a powerful assistant to collaborate with, elevating their writing process to new heights.
Collaborative Creation Process:
Imagine a world where you can bounce ideas off an intelligent AI language model, receive instant suggestions, and witness your thoughts transformed into eloquent prose. With AI co-writing, this dream becomes a reality. By integrating AI into the writing process, content creators can benefit from a harmonious partnership where creativity meets computational power.
Unleashing Creativity:
One of the most significant advantages of AI co-writing is its ability to unleash creativity. AI language models have access to an extensive knowledge base, including millions of articles, blogs, and books. This vast repository allows them to provide content creators with relevant information, inspiring ideas, and unique perspectives. The result? A truly collaborative environment where human ingenuity is amplified by AI’s ability to comprehend and synthesize vast amounts of data.
Enhancing Efficiency:
Time is of the essence for content creators, and AI co-writing offers a welcome boost to efficiency. Instead of spending hours on research, writers can leverage AI’s capabilities to gather information, identify key points, and provide references. With AI’s support, the time-consuming tasks are streamlined, allowing writers to focus on crafting engaging narratives and delivering thought-provoking content.
Improving Quality:
AI co-writing also enhances the quality of blog posts. By analyzing the tone, style, and structure of existing content, AI models can adapt their writing to match the desired voice and tone of the author. This ensures a consistent and coherent message throughout the blog post. Additionally, AI-powered grammar and spell-checking features help eliminate errors, further enhancing the overall quality of the writing.
Addressing Ethical Concerns:
It’s important to address the ethical implications surrounding AI co-writing. While AI is a powerful tool, it is crucial to acknowledge the distinction between human creativity and AI-generated content. Content creators must retain editorial control, shaping and refining the AI-generated text to align with their vision. Transparency is key, ensuring readers are aware of the involvement of AI in the writing process.
The Future of Content Creation:
AI co-writing represents a transformative shift in the way we create content. As AI technologies continue to evolve, we can expect even more sophisticated language models that understand context, emotion, and intent. This opens up exciting possibilities, from personalized content generation to automated research assistants tailored to specific industries.
Conclusion:
AI co-writing is a game-changer for content creators, offering an innovative and efficient way to generate engaging blog posts. By harnessing the power of AI, writers can unleash their creativity, streamline the writing process, and enhance the overall quality of their work. As we move forward, it is important to embrace AI as a valuable collaborative partner, leveraging its capabilities while maintaining our unique human perspectives and editorial control. With AI co-writing, the future of content creation looks brighter than ever before.
Mind Kind of Blown
OK. I’m back. Let’s talk about what we all just witnessed. There is a striking difference between what Chat GPT wrote and what was written by Bard. To me, Bard used a typical blog post format of bulleted lists with short chunks of information. That was good. However, the style of the Bard post was a bit…well, not me. It read more like a dry article that was informative but lacked any personality. Chat GPT has a bit more personality. It might not be exactly my voice, but it is getting closer. More like something written by one of my smarter cousins. Even if it does not sound exactly like me, I think it sounds a bit more human. There seems to be more emotion in the writing. Used both statements and questions, much like I typically do in my posts. It also knew that I talk about new technology her on HotPinkTech. The post from Bard didn’t acknowledge the connection to HotPinkTech.
Overall, the content is similar. Chat GPT used similar examples of how a blogger and AI can work together to create content. Idea generation, research, grammar, spelling, and formatting. All great ideas. Like Bard, Chat GPT also mentioned the ethics issue. Something that will keep coming up as we dive deeper into this AI rabbit hole. Both Bard and Chat GPT talk about how AI can be used as a writing tool that can unlock creativity and save time in the process. Both sound good to someone like me who has been struggling to create due to lack of time and creative inspiration.
Breaking out the Big Guns
Now that I have tried the free versions, it is time to get serious. I’m going to take the leap and pay for access to Chat GPT-4. According the the Open AI site. This is is their most advanced and useful version to date. (June 2023) What I hope to see is more of my voice and personality coming through in the draft. Or, maybe I don’t want to see that. As I think about it, that might be creepier than I’m ready for.
Stick around for AI is Co Writer part 3 and see if it is time to turn this blog over to the robots.
